Back when gaming first came about, there wasn't any internet, and no place to find out about how best to run games, all the lessons were learned around the table and it took many of us months, if not years, to become good GMs.  We recognise that there's no easy way of learning the skill, and even more so, there's very little way of learning how to run games at Conventions where you can be sure that you're going to get reasonable players and the support you need to make the game a good one.

This is where the mentoring program comes in, we've discussed the lack of options for many new Convention GMs and we're going to be putting in place areas at regional conventions where those wanting to give GMing a try will have a place where the players and organisers know that they're still learning, and will have expectations to match.
